Department of Business

The Department of Business is the oldest department at Bifröst University, dating back to 1918 with the establishment of the School of Cooperation, which was aimed at training the business leaders of that era.

Today, the Department of Business still offers specialized training in leadership and management. The Department offers diverse study programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The objective of business administration studies at Bifröst University is to help students build and advance their business careers, enabling them to harness their initiative and independence in positions of responsibility and leadership.

The Bifröst learning module is hands-on, allowing students to practice their skills through project-based learning. This is particularly evident in the yearly term projects at the undergraduate level, where students collaborate in groups on real-time projects in entrepreneurship and data science.

The courses are mainly taught in Icelandic; however, international undergraduate students can take a semester at Bifröst University, which has bilateral agreements (Erasmus) with many universities throughout Europe.
