Jernej Pikalo, a part-time teacher at Bifröst University has been appointed a minister of educatation, science, culture and sports in Slovenia
Mr. Vilhjálmur Egilsson has been hired as a new rector at Bifröst University, effective 1. june 2013.
The University Office will be closed for two weeks over the Christmas holidays, starting Wednesday, December 19th. We open again at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 2nd.
The library and café (Kaffi Bifröst), will also be closing over the holidays.

Jón Ólafsson, Vice-Rector of Bifröst University, has been nominated for the Icelandic Literary Prize in the category of academic and non-fiction books for his newly published book, Oranges from Abkhazia: Vera Hertzsch, Halldór Laxness and the Great Purge (Appelsínur frá Abkasíu: Vera Hertzsch, Halldór Laxness og hreinsanirnar miklu).
Bifröst International Summer School in Philosophy and Politics
Bifröst University May 21st to June 29th, 2012
The Summer School is a part of the undergraduate program in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) at Bifröst University. It is open to undergraduate students who have completed at least one year of an undergraduate program (two years for US college students).

Bifröst University hosts an International week 2-7 April. A number of guests from partner institutions will attend and spend the week on campus. The International week includes a number of lectures, workshops and other activities. Everyone is welcome to attend. Please e-mail international@bifrost.is should you wish to participate.
